Hey you!
Thanks a ton for visiting this blog.. among so many blogs and websites out there!
It really means a lot.. to me :)
This is Mohul. Born and brought up in Lucknow (India). Completed 10th and 12th from Mahanagar Boys's Inter College.
Went to Mangalore to join Masters of Science program, in Srinivas College. It was a 5 year integrated course, and at that time, Mangalore University was the only such institution offering this course. It was fun..
Passed out in the year 2006, and then, started a very interesting phase of my life.
Joined IBM as Technical Specialist (eMail and Communication). Spent around 2 years working for Sprint Telecom, which is the US's second largest telephone company.
Learned a lot about the Telecom industry in US, about the life, culture and traditions of US citizens and Indians living there, and somewhere down the line, I understood that how Internet and Web have become so important for them. As if, if Internet is off for a day, the average Joe would feel like he is paralyzed!
Publishing emails and solving technical issues everyday had become very monotonous for me, and I started looking for an alternative career. Then, I made an awesome mistake, which altered the way I was taking on my life. I joined SAP training as a very close friend of mine had done the same, and was earning some serious money. The biggest mistake of my life till date. I went after money, rather than my instincts.
I was now a SAP Consultant.
As if God was part of this conspiracy, I managed a job of a SAP ABAP consultant in Pune. Big salary, nice place, and everything seemed just the perfect. It was March, 2009.
After about a year, things got worse for me. This coding thing was simply out of my mind! I had discovered that money, although is important, is not everything.
Fed-up with this feeling day in and day out, I started pursuing my artistic interests, in a professional way. I loved writing, and technology. And Internet was the holy union of these two extremely interesting domains.
I searched Google about ways to earn money while writing. The search continued for some 2 months, and at the beginning of third month, I was easily charging $3 to $5 per 300 words from US clients.
In March, 2010, when I was earning close to $500 as Freelance Content Writer, I finally decided to quit my SAP job. I knew that I had the cushion now.
While writing and earning dollars, I realized the power of Online Marketing.
I was greatly influenced by two approaches:
Search engine marketing and Social Media.
I observed both as complimentary of one another. If both are combined in the right manner, then online marketing as a whole can become just lethal.
After some 6 months working as freelancer, I had started developing special interest for SEO and began studying the real technology.
In April, 2010, I applied at ONSIS Media, which is one of the biggest SEO companies in India. Just search SEO India in Google.com (with &gl=US) and you can find this company in number 1-2 spot.
I got selected as Content Writer. Gradually I convinced the management of my SEO prowess, and finally, I was designated a full time SEO project. Since then, I am mainly working as SEO Consultant for some 15 projects. Often, I am putting on my Content Writer's cap and contributing few blogs.
The time line would be:
1999: Completed 10th
2001: Completed 12th
June 2006: Joined IBM
March 2009: Left IBM and joined Sanus ERP tech, Pune (SAP ABAP Consultant)
October 2009: Started my career as Freelance Content Writer
March 2010: Left SAP Career
April 2010: Joined ONSIS as Content Writer
May 2010: Started SEO Career
Soon will follow.... :)
